We're all excited for the London Olympic Games in 2012, but Vivienne Westwood has just risen the bar higher than we could ever have imagined.
Genius Westwood's menswear collection, presented yesterday at Men's Milan Fashion Week shows off her Olympic inspired collection for next spring and summer using the motifs with the twists and flair we have come to know and love from the eccentric designer.
Her designs included images of everything from a twist on trademarked olympic rings (instead going for four solid circles in black, blue, red and yellow down the arm of a sweater) to the torch and others where is appeared the wearer to have a hefty collection of gold medals around their neck.
Westwood has been careful in making sure that the outfits are not just suitable for the on field events but for formal events too and so there were even three-piece pin stiped suits in the collection as well as having specific outfits for different competing countries too.
The overall theme was 'gentleman sportsman' and while some of the designs were quirky beyond words, few would deny the rising excitement and anticipation levels for us Brits for next year's Olympics!
