Dame Vivienne Westwood is all for looking after the environment. As well as being a heavy weight designer with many many collections under her belt, the original punk princess takes every available opportunity to speak out for eco rights and reducing our carbon footprint.
Dame Weswood is now set to lauch her latest range in green, ethically-minded accessories in collaborations with the Internation Trade Centre and their Ethical Fashion Africa Project.
She has worked with the ITC before, but selling her handbags on the extensive site, YOOX is a first. The bags were premiered in Florence last week along with short films that show Vivienne teaching her skills to locals in Nairobi.
Not only do the sales from these bags go towards helping impoverisged parts of Africa, but the making of them provides work 'not charity.'
The abgs are on sale from $83 to $339 and as well as being for a good cause, they would not be Westwood without plenty of design and spirit. They are bright and vivid which will make them a must have for those with the Westwood bug and not just those wanting to do a good deed.
Get your hands on one quick before they're all gone.
