Whilst there were plenty of breathtaking red carpet moments at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, there were still a fair few disappointments on the red carpet.
We've picked out our worst dressed moments of the festival below and hopefully they won't taint the spectacular moments of Blake Lively, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Jessica Chastain at Cannes.
On the opening ceremony and the Grace of Monaco premiere, Karlie Kloss wore a lace Valentino number.
The black, aubergine and teal dress with sheer inserts dramatically aged the Victoria's Secret model and we can only hope she redeems herself soon.
Thankfully there were a few days of nothing but hits on the red carpet, but then Adriana Lima turned up at The Homesman premiere and our mouths hit the floor.
Her Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2013 Couture gown was far too sexy for the grace of beauty of Cannes. The fitted bodice, thigh-high split and champagne hue all screamed boudoir and whilst this would work on many other red carpets we think it was lost at Cannes.
Marion Cotillard has certainly lost her stylish way and her look at the Two Days, One Night premiere only confirmed this.
We don’t think it’s so much the Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture dress as opposed to the clunky navy shoes. Do you think delicate sandals could have saved this look?
Irina Shayk certainly didn’t have the most stylish time at Cannes, her first Atelier Versace look at The Search premiere certainly stood out but for all the wrong reasons. Like Adriana’s we think this gown would have been much more suited elsewhere.
At the same premiere Sharon Stone took to the red carpet wearing an Emilio Pucci black embellished mini dress with lace-up detailing. It’s not so much the dress we’re having trouble with here, but the addition of the aviator sunglasses. Surely they weren’t necessary?!
Our final two disappointing looks were at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala held at the back end of the Cannes Film Festival.
Once again wearing Atelier Versace, Irina Shayk got it completely wrong on the red carpet. It was all just a little too much and the hair felt lackluster in comparison to the detail on the gown.
Finally, it was Lara Stone who rounded off our list of misses at the Cannes Film Festival. Wearing a vintage Gianna Versace two-piece which featured the brand’s signature medusa details and other gold hard wear. We just don’t think this is particularly flattering on Lara’s body as it makes her middle look chunky, which is obviously not the case as she dazzled in her hot pink Calvin Klein body-skimming number earlier on in the week.
Which looks at Cannes left you feeling disappointed?
