OMFG as Gossip Girl herself would say, as last night's episode was a total fashion triumph, largely thanks to our resident fashionista Blair Waldorf and her wonderful array of headbands.
The Dark Night opened with Dan and Serena sucking face once more, and Blair trying to get her lovely English Lord to take their relationship to the next level. Nice.
Serena's casual New York look gets better with every episode, as she was actually in jeans this episode- hard to believe I know, meanwhile Blair is doing her best to channel the look of a sexy secretary, complete with blue silk blouse and black pencil skirt.
For some reason he was politely refusing her advances, insisting that she was 'sweet' and 'delicate' and not like that 'whore Keira Knightley' when Blair said her fantasy was getting caught like the library scene in Atonement. LOL.
Meanwhile, another boy who was more eager to do the deed found himself unable to, and instead turned to smoking pot and downing whiskey in bucket loads.
Ahh, Chuck you are just a car crash waiting to happen, but we do give you major fashion points for wearing silk pyjamas, a cravat and a quilted dressing down like you were some kind of royalty, however.
Nate seemed to think Chuck was in some kind of meltdown (oh, you aint seen nothing yet!) and asked him for some money, after throwing it back in his face the previous episode.
It seems being a man whore is taking its toll on Nate, as his lack of anything exciting in the wardrobe department is starting to seriously depress us. A plain T-shirt and jeans? Come on Nate, you are part of the social elite- at least glam it up a little!
Although, he did seem to be making baby steps towards rekindling his romance with Vanessa, only for that dastardly Catherine to intervene and totally scupper any chances of happiness between the pair.
She may be a snappy dresser and pretty fit for a 40-year-old, but we're hating this character at the moment. Not only is she keeping Nate on a tight leash, but she then goes and disses Blair; totally unacceptable!
Enrolling Blair in one of her schemes proved quite amusing, however as Blair put on her best sweet act to get Nate to come to her latest party. Is it just us, or do they have a lot of them on the Upper East Side?
Wearing a pale blue skirt, ruffled shirt and a cute bow headband, she may have looked as sweet as candy, but behind the cute clothes, the old scheming Blair was in full mode.
Her exchange with Nate was funny as they traded insults back and forth, leading us to question- could there have been a small spark flickering there?! Humm...
Back to Serena and Dan, who finally decided they needed to work out their issues. Yawn, but it did give us one of the funniest scenes of the entire episode, as Dan was confronted by three miniature versions of Gossip Girl who proceeded to lay into him for taking back Serena.
It was made all the more amusing by Dan not having a clue who they were and how they knew about Georgina from season 1. We hope they make a reappearance later on in the season, as they were so funny to watch, in their replica outfits of what Serena, Blair and co. would wear.
Throughout all the confusion, Serena managed to look gorgeous as always in a lime green silk top, complete with chain detail and white jeans, while Dan's horrendous purple T-shirt complete with waistcoat was an utter let down.
So, to Blair's party and here's how the situation currently stands- Blair is going out with Marcus, who won't sleep with her and Queen B is getting a bit desperate.
Chuck is having some mechanical problems downstairs, but thinks that one more time with Blair will sort things out.
Catherine, Marcus' stepmother is hoping to attend the party with Nate, who has been secretly meeting up with Vanessa, who is now finally over Dan- with us so far?
Finally, Dan and Serena are refusing to actually talk about what went wrong in their relationship last year, leaving them both feeling confused and as luck would have it, a city wide blackout leaves them stuck in a elevator.
Looking hot and sweaty in an lift is never a good look, but Serena's cream dress with brown polka dots was a triumph, and it's a shame yet again that dull Dan let her down in a simple brown shirt and pants. Yawn, once again.
Nate, bless him tried to make some form of effort in a navy blue suit, but was let down by his tan coloured shoes. Meanwhile, his date, Vanessa did get to glam it up a bit in a cream and orange maxi dress, but can't really compete in the fashion stakes opposite the likes of Serena and Blair.
Chuck stole the show in grey suit pants, a matching waistcoat, purple cravat and lilac shirt. He should have looked ridiculous, but as it was he looked sexy as hell; how could Blair refuse?!
Well, quite easily as it happens, as Queen B was in no mood for Chuck's shenanigans and was still trying to get Marcus to make her feel 'alive'. Give it up Blair, his mind is clearly elsewhere!
We don't get how he could of refused her though really, as she looked stunning in her 3.1 Philip Lim yellow one shouldered dress, complete with a floral wreath headband. This could be a contender for outfit of the series, as we are seriously in love with it!
We're also loving the fact that every episode title is either a play on words or influenced by a movie title, and seeing as this episode paid tribute to The Dark Knight, Chuck was absolutely doing his best to be as creepy as the Joker.
Creeping up to Blair and whispering sweet nothings in her ear, ended with him demanding sex from her and Blair telling him how much she hated him.
Cue him sneaking up to Blair's room and the pair indulging in a bit of tonsil tennis in the dark, before Marcus catches them and promptly punches Chuck in the face.
Blair's face is a picture as she pleads ignorance, saying she thought it was him and admits she wants Marcus to show how much he wants her.
He did look kind of hot when he punched Chuck and maybe this relationship does have a future, as the pair have a passionate kiss on the stairs, witnessed by a somber looking Chuck.
When the lights came on, we were left with a bit of an empty hole in our hearts, as everyone seemed to have broken up during the blackout. The episode ended with Chuck trying to get lucky with a random in his limo, only to realise he's still in love with Blair- aww!
Dan, Vanessa and Serena were all nursing separate heartbreaks, Nate was dreading meeting up with Catherine once more and Blair seems to be back on top with Marcus by her side.
Next week should be an interesting one, as senior year begins at Constance Billiard and St Judes. Chuck is plotting the demise of someone close to him and could we about to see the return of Queen Serena? Check in for another fashion rundown next week with The Ex-Files.
