The second series of Gossip Girl is due to hit our screens later this week, so we thought it was high time to take a look at some of the main characters and their fabulous style.

More importantly of course, we want to show you how to replicate each characters personal style, so over the next few days we'll be looking closely as stealing Serena, Blair and Jenny's style.

Today we're kicking off our Gossip Girl frenzy with the leading lady herself, Serena Van Der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively. Serena's style in the first season was very laid back, as it reflected her character wanting to get away from the Upper East side world.

However, now she's split with Dan, the return of Queen S is almost inevitable and with that comes a more fierce sense of style. Expect to see her flaunting her figure a bit more and taking centre stage when it comes to the style stakes.

Although she is not the most adventurous character with her style on the show, it's quite classic. So she'll always have the latest 'it' bag and shoes, but pair them with jeans and a blazer as opposed to an outlandish dress and coloured tights.

This picture is from an upcoming episode where the cast visit Yale, so obviously this is a look to impress.
