Beach wave hair is perfect at this time of year, you’ll wear it throughout the day and into the evening, on the beach, at festivals and summer events.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has this look perfected, whether she’s heading through LAX, coming from the gym or hitting the red carpet her hair has the perfect beach wave and we want to steal her style.
Of course, it’s a look that looks effortless, but we all know it takes a lot more than that. Practise makes perfect with these styles too, so the more you do it the quicker you’ll get at it and the easier it will be to do.
First up, the products you’ll need: To get this look we have three products that will help keep it in place and stop it from looking frizzy; the Sexy Hair’s Soya Want It All 22 in 1 Leave in Treatment, spray this on damp hair and your hair will feel the benefit of 22 different treatments, from hair heat protection, detangling, anti-frizzing and plenty more. The Mark Hill Beach Babe Wave Spray contains real sea salt and beach perfect ingredients that will ensure your hair is ‘beach-perfect’ every time you use it, use this when hair is damp, then spray a small amount onto hands and work through your hair once it’s been waved with the styler. And then finish with the Lee Stafford Climate Control Protection Spray, it’s a long lasting non-sticky hairspray with a flexible hold that helps to weatherproof hair that goes haywire in hot, wet or windy climates.
Then of course, the tool that will help perfect the look, we love the Nicky Clark Mayfair MultiStyler, £59.99. This styling tool is a three-in-one tool that helps to create ringlets, curls or waves. The thickest barrel will help create perfect beach waves.
To get the look follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Create an off balance centre parting and take sections starting at the face working backwards.
Step 2: Take each section, comb through and wrap around the Nicky Clarke Classic Mayfair MultiStyler to about ear level.
Step 3: Keep the styler horizontal at all times as this will give the look more width when curling.
Step 4: Leave the curls you have created loose in order to cool down.
Step 5: Finger through with a small amount of Mark Hill Beach Babe Wave Spray on the hands and fingers, then finish with a spritz of the Lee Stafford Climate Control Spray.
If you don’t want to use heat on your hair to create the beach waves, much preferred on holiday when everything gets a little too sticky.
Spritz through damp hair with the Beach Babe Wave Spray, take your hair into a high ponytail and roll a bun ring down the length of the hair, wrapping around until it feel secure in a top knot. Leave your hair to dry naturally either overnight or whilst your sunbathing. When you’re ready to style, just unroll the bun ring and shake those curls loose.
