Happy New Year to you all! We all like to make New Year’s resolutions hoping for a better and more successful year than the last.
Most are difficult to maintain and remain a distant memory by the end of January.
But with the help of celebrity hairdresser Mark Hill, we believe you can make a promise to yourself that will last you the year and see you reap the benefits in a very short space of time.
Your hair is the one accessory you wear every day but it can sometimes get neglected. It should be your crowning glory and something your friends envy.
Just by spending a little time on your hair each week, it will soon become something to be proud of.
Here are some ideas we have put together on how to make sure your hair will become the talk of the town in 2013.
- So many things affect the condition of your hair. Colouring, heat styling, central heating, swimming and general health all have an impact on the way your hair looks and feels. It’s really important to keep your hair in the best possible condition by using a conditioner every time you shampoo your hair, and a regular weekly conditioning treatment.
- Once a week, use a conditioning treatment to really pack moisture you’re your hair and seal down the cuticles. Leave it on for as long as you can – some of my celeb clients wrap their hair in a towel and sleep with a treatment on!
- We all know how a great haircut can make us feel – it’s a real confidence booster and gives us a real spring in the step. Don’t be scared to take images of styles you like and don’t like with you - by showing your stylist images, they get a good idea of what you want your hair to look like.
- The reason that celebs never really get bored with their style is because they are always changing their look. Why not try swapping the side your hair is parted on, or buy a new hair accessory? Try experimenting with new styling products or using the latest electrical appliances.
- I am personally developing new products for my ranges all of the time – products designed to add volume, curls or help smooth hair are particularly popular at the moment. Don’t be scared to try new looks – there is nothing stopping you going from straight one day to wavy the next, from Hollywood curls to a rock and roll quiff. Just have a go!
