FemaleFirst have some great tips for keeping your hair healthy and nursing your poorly do back to health. These are things that are more common sense than mean coughing up the cash.
1. You may think that dry and damaged hair means using plenty of conditioner. To some extent, but if you're using a conditioner that just washing in and out then you're not moisturising the hair and not giving it chance to repair. Rather than using any conditioner, find yourself an intensive moisturising shampoo.
2. Take care when washing your hair. It maybe that the way that you're rubbing shampoo into your hair is not helping matters. Try to avoid rubbing shampoo into the scalp hard, instead massage it into the hair. This will avoid snapping the hair.
3. Rather than using any conditioner, this should be the place you spend the money on your problem hair. Find yourself a hot oil conditioner as this will help to open up the hair cuticles allowing moisture to penetrate and the hair becoming softer, leaving dry hair a thing of the past.
4. If you have the dry hair tendancy the best way to avoid a full scale problem it to keep on top of it. Use a moisterising butter, like this Rainforest moisturiser from the Body Shop for £3. Use it weekly or when needed to keep some softness in the hair. Use more if you use heat frequently in your hair routine.
5. If you're looking for an instant injection of moisture find yourself a deep heat mask such as this one from Tresemme. Around a £1 and available on the highstreet. Just comb through wet hair and leave for as long as it says on the pack and there you have it - silky hair in a few minutes. Don't use these all the time, you should find yourself a healthy hair routine and you'll soon see that you need them less and less.
Handy hints: Always use heat protection when blow drying and straightening hair. Shea butter is a quality product to lock in that moisture. Find yourself a conditioner with this in and you're onto a winner.
