With 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with breast cancer at some stage in their life, Festifeel is kicking off the summer for the fourth time running to help raise awareness.
Festifeel, (which is curated by Radio 1 DJ and CoppFeel! patron Fearne Cotton) is Britain’s only boutique music festival that helps raise awareness for breast cancer and it delivers a fun and unique day whilst raising the importance that all women should check their breast regularly for any abnormalities.
Festifeel attracts hundreds of people to the event each year and it delivers a lot of entertainment and fun whilst still reinforcing its initial message.
The festival helps raise money for charity, CoppaFeel!, founded in October 2009 by Kristen Hallenga, 23, who was misdiagnosed with breast cancer twice and now lives with secondary breast cancer. CoppaFeel! aims to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by ensuring people know the vital signs. The charity ensures people know what their breasts look and feel like normally and urges anyone who finds anything unusual to go to their GP straight away as early diagnosis could save their life.
With breast cancer being the second most common cancer for women under 30 in the UK, with 181 new cases and 12 deaths each year, CoppaFeel! urges women to check their breasts on a regular basis. CoppaFeel! main aim is to ensure no one dies in the UK of breast cancer because of late detection or misdiagnosis.
CoppaFeel! relies entirely on voluntary donations and every little penny counts for them!
And with an exciting line-up, you don’t have to look far to see why the festival is so popular. Many acts have already been announced to play on this year’s line-up and these include: Maverick Sabre, The Milk, Tribes, Gabrielle Aplin, Mistajam, Gemma Cairney, VV Brown, Lewis Watson, Rae Morris, DJ Count Sizzle, Goldierocks, Abandoman, JP Copper, A.J. Holmes and the Hackney Empire, Gaoler’s Daughter, Chloe Howl, Bad Zuke VS The Jinks, DJ Cuddles, Kye Sones and The Harlots.
CoppaFeel! patron, Fearne Cotton said: “It's always fun asking bands to play at Festifeel because it's an awesome day and it's for a brilliant cause. Most of our acts are playing a busy summer of massive festivals, so it's cool they've given up their time to play for CoppaFeel! before all that. It gives people an opportunity to see some big acts in an intimate setting - something you're not going to get in any field this summer! And to top it off, it launches CoppaFeel!’s life saving work around some of the coolest festivals this summer. I am excited to be involved again."
