Are you going to lose weight in the run up to Christmas?

Are you going to lose weight in the run up to Christmas?

Today has affectionately been dubbed the Little Black Dress day, today is when we should be starting the Christmas diet in a bid to lose a dress size before the festive period.

We know that Christmas is a time for indulgence, but beforehand it's always a good idea to lose some inches in preparation for putting them back on.

The countdown to the Christmas party season is well underway. With just eight weeks to go now is the time to start your weight loss plan because you'll lose this weight healthily and in a steady manner - meaning it's less likely you'll pile them all back on.

The Dukan Diet, which is a four-stage diet plan geared towards achieving long-term, stable weight control recommends that eight weeks is the minimum amount of time required to achieve a healthy pre-party season weight loss.

Typically followed for a minimum of three months, this exclusive 8 week plan follows the main principles of the Dukan Diet but has been developed for those with just a few excess pounds to lose over a shorter period.

Simply start with a base of pure protein (Attack Phase) for 3 days then add vegetables to your protein base from day 4 onwards on alternate days, so one day protein, one day protein and vegetables (Cruise Phase). If you’ve reached your target weight after 4 weeks you can move straight to the 3rd ‘Consolidation Phase’ and reintroduce fruit, wholegrains, fats and finally starchy foods. Combine your diet plan with 20-minutes daily exercise (minimum) et voila! You’ll be ready to turn heads at the Christmas party!
