Weight loss jabs reduce the risk of cancer by a fifth.
Drugs such as Ozempic have been found to prevent multiple types of the disease - including breast and bowel - in a study that involved 34,000 obese adults.
Patients were 19 per cent less likely to develop cancer if they were on the drugs, known as GLP-1 agonists, as scientists say they work in "multiple ways" to stop tumours from forming.
A separate study found that the jabs can significantly boost survival rates in breast cancer patients and slash the chances of the disease returning.
Commenting on the discovery, Dr. Mitchell Lazar from the University of Pennsylvania said: "Obesity is a risk factor for nearly all cancers. Thus the revolution in the medical treatment of obesity has enormous potential to prevent new cancers and reduce the severity and growth rate of existing tumours."
