'Street Fighter V' producer Yoshinoro Ono wants to create a new beat 'em up which features Nintendo characters.

Yoshinoro thinks it would be incredible to make a game which pits Capcom's most famous avatars against Super Mario and his pals in a Nintendo vs Capcom title.

In an interview with StreetPass UK, Yoshinoro said: "I think it takes a lot of work to get characters from a different series to work in another one. 'Super Smash Brothers' creator Mr. Sakurai did a lot of work getting (Capcom's) Ryu to fit in with the 'Smash Brothers'. I almost wouldn't want to pick one out and go with just 'Street Fighter'. I'd rather see something like Nintendo vs Capcom and make it as specifically designed for those characters to work that well."

If the project were to go ahead, it could mean game combinations like Ken vs Pikachu, Dualism vs Kirby and Chun-Li vs Peach could be a reality.

But when it comes to gaming, expect the unexpected - you only have to look at the 'Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars' and the 'Marvel vs. Capcom' game series.

Yoshinoro said: "When we spoke to Mr. Sakurai about putting a character in the game he wanted to put in the symbol of the series we were to add more I'm sure he would want a non-fireball character."

It's not the first time a Capcom game developer has talked about wanting to "borrow" some characters from Nintendo for a future game - Ryota Niitsuma, the producer behind 'Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars' was as keen as Yoshinoro is to bring Nintendo's pixelated stars into the Capcom universe.
