Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush

Released: May 8 (Europe), out now in North America

Platform: Wii U

Played exclusively on the Wii U's GamePad using the stylus, paths are drawn on-screen to guide a rolling Kirby through levels of fun, excitement and intrigue. With the ability to transform into a variety of different states including a tank and submarie, there's amiibo support which allows players to power-up abilities once a day per stage.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Released: May 5 digitally, May 15 retail

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC

The Nazis are on the brink of winning the Second World War in this prequel to last year's Wolfenstein: The New Order, and so series regular BJ Blazkowicz takes it upon himself to stop them in a two-part mission.

In the first part of his quest, Blazkowicz tries to infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein and steal co-ordinates that can lead him to General Deathshead's compound. Part two pits him against a Wulfburg Nazi archaeologist, and when you're done with all that drama, there's a Nazi Zombies mode to get to grips with.

Destiny expansion 'House of Wolves'

Released: May 19

Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3

Following on from first major expansion The Dark Below, House of Wolves adds all-new social spaces, gear and story missions to gamers, some of which is available for free. It's also going to introduce the exciting weekly 3-vs-3 elimination competition, described as Destiny's "most intense" competitive multiplayer mode to-date - the 'Trials of Osiris'. If that's not enough, there's also co-op area Prison of Elders in place of a new raid.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Released: May 19

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC

With around 200 hours reported worth of content, Geralt of Rivia becomes mixed up in the mysterious goings on and otherworldy proceedings of Wild Hunt in The Witcher 3. Full of player distractions, those gaming can on top of the usual story mode race horses, get into street fights, go treasure hunting, join in ancient rituals, play cards and much more.

Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros Edition

Released: May 8 (Europe), May 22 (North America)

Platform: Nintendo 3DS

It's the simple match-three puzzle game with added role-playing elements that has been downloaded over 32 million times in Japan alone, and in this new 3DS package, Puzzles & Dragons is combined with the Super Mario Bros Edition to add much-loved Nintendo characters, as well as familiar evil faces and a new map between stages.
