As well as rave reviews from around the worlds and some of the best visuals on a console game, Crysis 2 can also boast being Electronic Arts’ biggest game of 2011 so far.
It jumped straight to the top of the Gfk Chart-Track charts since its launch last Friday, with the Xbox 360 version getting the top spot followed by the PS3 in third and the PC version at number 13.
EA have already released several titles so far this year including major hits such as role-playing game Dragon Age II, boxing sim Fight Night Champion, space horror Dead Space 2 and first person shooter Bulletstorm, but Crysis 2 has trumped them all.
Crysis 2 is the sequel to the 2007 shooter from German developer Crytek and is the first time the series has appeared on consoles. The company’s CryEngine 3 technology provides it with some of the best visuals to ever appear in a game, and its frantic gunplay and realistic depiction of a New York city ravaged by alien invasion has won it high praise from critics.
