All the way back in March, just a few days before nationwide lockdown was implemented, the lovely folk at Hyatt Regency Manchester invited us over for a night's stay in one of their stunning rooms. What was right around the corner took us all by surprise, with the hotel having to close their doors for months on end before making their official comeback just a few weeks ago. Fortunately, our memories of the visit have remained...
Hyatt Regency Manchester is an upscale and instantly-inviting hotel. The moment you arrive, you feel as though you've been welcomed into the lap of luxury, with a sleek and modern Reception area that opens up into the hotel's Lounge and ground floor Bar. Staff are friendly and attentive, always willing to fill you in on everything the hotel has to offer and putting you at ease from the jump. There doesn't seem to be any question they're incapable of answering.
Natural light floods into the hotel through the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, with a choice of university or city views for those who are staying. It also boasts a gym with 24-hour access, as well as a number of different rooms for business meetings and conferences.
Our Regency Club room was located on the top level, with premium toiletries and a Nespresso machine included, as well as access to the Regency Club Lounge. The room also included all of the standard amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, a desk and a smart TV. As is usually the case, tea and coffee as well as a couple of sachets hot chocolate were provided.
Of course, what most people want to know when visiting a hotel is just how comfortable the beds are! I'm happy to report that I could've spent a week (or five) kicking back and relaxing in the King-size without any complaints. It's actually a shame they weren't available while many of us were furloughed!
When it comes to eating, there are two options.
Those looking for a full dining experience can check out The Laureate Restaurant, named in homage to Manchester University's 25 Nobel Prize winners. A number of different seating arrangements are on offer so that you can feel comfortable no matter your group size, with a wide selection of dishes available that manages to steer away from becoming too overwhelming.
If you only fancy something small, bar snacks as well as a range of different craft beers, cocktails and more are on offer at The Graduate Bar. It's a vibrant and lively area of the hotel where we're sure many lifelong memories have been made!
Hyatt Regency Manchester is undoubtedly one of the must-stay locations for anybody who's visiting the city. It's a place you leave knowing you'll return one day, thanks to all it has to offer. The perfect location for an affordable yet luxury hotel experience.
A one night stay at Hyatt Regency Manchester costs from just £76 per room per night including a King Bed, free wi-fi, fluffy bathrobes, in-room amenities and a full complementary a la carte breakfast. To book tel: (+44) 0161 359 5550 or go to www.hyattregencymanchester.com
