Bon Jovi rocker Jon Bon Jovi quit drugs after a bad experience with phencyclidine-laced marijuana. The Bad Medicine hitmaker used to enjoy the odd joint, but when an acquaintance added the hallucinogenic PCP, he realised his drug days were over.He says, "I think it had some PCP on it. That was bad."And that was pretty much the end of me ever doing drugs. I don't have the mental capacity to do them." Bon Jovi were signed to Mercury Records in the early eighties and their self entitled debut album went gold selling over 500,000 copies. But it was their third album Slippery When Wet whcu shot the band to super stardom selling 26 million copies worldwide and producing anthems such as 'Livin' On A Prayer' and 'You Give Love a Bad Name'.The follow up new Jersey has sold 18 million and contained a string of hits including 'Lay Your Hands On Me' and 'Bad Medicine'.
The band are also famed for their tours with ever album release incorporating a tour. However their latest release, Lost Highway, broke with tradition.
But the band were the first act to perform in the O2 Arena which was formerly the Millenium Dome.
