Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has been charged with criminal battery following claims he hit out at a security guard after he handed him a parking fine.
Shayne Smith was patrolling the sportsman's gated community last month when he spoke with Mayweather Jr about a driving query. Smith then claims that Mayweather, Jr. then reached into his car and struck him several times in the face after the confrontation.
The case was handed to the local District Attorney's office when officers were unable to speak to the boxer following the event. He was then slammed with the battery count according to TMZ.com.
The legal documents state: "While lambasting Smith, Mayweather was allegedly jabbing his finger into the left side of Smith's cheek just below his eye. This willful and unlawful use of force and violence upon Smith caused redness and discolouration to the area which was battered by Mayweather."
Smith also had photographic evidence of his bruised cheek.
