Floyd Mayweather Jr has been sentenced to serve 90 days in prison for allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend last year.
The boxer’s ex, Josie Harris, accused the star of hitting her “multiple time in the head with his fist” and claimed that he threatened to beat their two children, who at the time were nine and 10.
Mayweather was arrested in 2010 following the accusations and on Wednesday struck a plea bargain with prosecutors.
He pleaded guilty to misdemeanour domestic violence to escape a felony battery charge. In addition, he pleaded no contest to two misdemeanour harassment charges.
Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa served Mayweather Jr with a three-month jail sentence and 100 hours of community service. She also ordered him to enrol in a 12-month domestic violence programme and to pay $2,500 (£1,560) fine.
If Mayweather Jr fails to abide by the terms of the agreement he will be forced to serve another three months behind bars.
The boxer must turn himself in to Sin City’s Clark County Detention Centre on 6th January. He will have three days deducted from his total sentence for time served, reports TMZ.com.
