Comedy legend Bob Hope's collections and honours are to be auctioned off in Los Angeles next month.More than 680 items will be up for sale at the Julien's Auctions event on 18 and 19 October.These include furniture, photographs and paintings from the home the late Hope shared with his wife Dolores as well as the actor/comedian's collection of hats, suits, sporting memorabilia and movie items.The Hope family is also selling off footballs, jerseys and gifts that he was awarded from colleges, leading U.S. dignitaries and world leaders.The Road To Bali star's daughter Kelly says, "Our family is honoured to have the opportunity to revisit some of that life through the objects he collected and treasured."In preparing for this auction, we went back through time recalling stories he (Hope) told in connection with many of the items."Hope reveals she and her mother carefully selected the items that are to be auctioned.
She adds, "When my father died, he left his cherished collection of over 11,000 items to her with the request that she see that these treasures be shared with the public, his fans."
All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Bob & Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation.
