American Idol Season 7

American Idol Season 7

Ramiele Malubay likeable, happy, contrite but ultimately an American Idol light weight Youngest of the women still in the competition, Mulubay could at best be described as 'safe' when it came to her musical ability never truly awful but then again never able to produce a memorable performance.Though she has never been in real danger up until this performance, her version of Dolly Parton "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" was like all of her other songs during her "Idol" stay - solid, ok yet completely forgettable, and as a result she was eliminated from the competition on Wednesday.Ramiele has always been a favourite with the judges as well as Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul were quick to blame sickness on the occasions when she delivered below par performances, Paula in particular always stressed how talented Malubay was, and how big a voice came out of such a tiny body. The problem was that nobody in the viewing audience got to see her hit her peak. She might have had bags of potential, but potential that is never realised means the audience runs out of patience, and she never connected. On Wednesday, When Ryan announced the bottom three, all the judges agreed that it would be no surprise if she went home.Malubay was joined in the bottom two by Kristy Lee Cook... no stranger to that placing. But Cook refused to be despondent as she produced a little note saying "Kristy’s Seat" onstage with her for the announcement, so she'd be able to save one of her usual bottom-three chairs. Traditionally each season has at least one finalist who hangs around week after week, squeezing through with just enough votes to avoid the goodbye gong, puzzling everyone as to how. Kristy Lee is this years tightrope walker, but at least she seems to be having some fun with it, and with the added value the girl livens up the hour long show.Brooke White was also in the bottom three but, for the first time, but she is fast turning into the 'one trick pony' of the show, predictable slightly boring, and very 60's in her performance. So it should come as no surprise really, Simon Cowell complimented the voters for getting the bottom three right.

White churned out a teary-eyed set of reasons for her predicament before being dispatched to safety but she will have to up her game considerably if she is to offer any real competition to David Cook or the hugely talented Carly Smithson,
