Sandy Bigelow Patterson (Bateman) is your everyday ordinary nice guy - a devoted family man and hardworking accountant, it’s safe to say when it comes to personal finance he’s Mr Responsible.
So imagine the shock when stopping for fuel on his way to work one morning, his cards are declined and he’s dramatically arrested for a string of criminal activities he knows nothing about.
Enter, Diana (McCarthy), an unhappy misfit who feeds her emptiness with an extravagant and lavish lifestyle funded by identity theft and credit card fraud, and unfortunately for Sandy, he’s her latest victim.
With Diana living the high life spending Sandy’s hard earned cash in Florida, there is little the local police force can do.
With the clock ticking and only one week to clear his name Sandy is forced to take matters into his own hands before his whole world implodes, and trek across the country to locate the orchestrator of his bad luck.
Here starts a hilarious journey of crazy mishaps, silly shenanigans and a high speed car chase, as Sandy try’s to get Diana back to his home town in Colorado to clear his name and restore his life.
But, it’s not just Sandy that is after Diana and her life as a con artist living off other peoples fortunes is finally catching up with her. What ensues is a dirty-as-hell, laugh-out-loud, adventure that sees the Sandy and Diana both fleeing for their life from a series of menacing criminals and a badass bounty hunter, as they try to beat the clock.
