Many people have some very specific dreams, possibly containing someone they know or a situation that relates to them in particular. However, many of us have rather generic dreams; here are seven of the most common dreams that you can have.

Teeth falling out

Whether your teeth fall out one by one, crumble into your hands, or if they are beginning to rot, a dream such as this one can be a sign of anxiety, specifically about your appearance.

It means you are likely worried about how others see you; in many cases, these types of dreams come from a fear of rejection, embarrassment, or even feeling unattractive.

A dream about losing your teeth can also have something to do with communication. Without teeth it would clearly be harder to speak, meaning that your dream is spotlighting adversity when communicating with someone, or even expressing yourself.

You might be lacking confidence, and need to perhaps speak to someone about how you can better deal with stressful situations such as anxiety or rejection.

Being chased

Simply enough, being chased in you dream or running from something can signal that you are running from something in your waking life, such as anxiety or fear.

The action of running away infers that this is how you usually deal with stressful situations or daily fears; you chose to run from problems rather than face them dead on.

Until you solve the problem or come face-to-face with the issue you think may be causing this dream, then it may persist. From now on, always try to rectify your issues before yoy decide to run in the opposite direction.

Can’t find a toilet

Albeit a very strange dream, but the need to find a toilet and being unable to, is a rather common dream among us all.

This can relate to the fact that, in your waking life, you are finding it hard to express your needs in a certain (or multiple) situation. You may need to realise that, due to putting others ahead of yourself in regard to needs, you lack time to treat yourself.

Dreaming of not being able to find a toilet can relate to personal or private matters, and suggests that you may not have the time to put your own needs in front of others; this is your sign to take time out for you and you only.

Being naked a dream

Everyone has had ‘the naked dream’ at some point or another, but have you ever wondered what it means?

Being naked in a public setting can infer that you might be having a hard time finding yourself, or you feel wrongly accused or exposed; it may be worth thinking about what problems you have, and trying to deal with them face on.

If you see someone that is not you in your dream and you are rather uncomfortable seeing that, then this can mean you are worried you may expose another person. It could also mean, however, that you are happy in your own skin.

Feeling unprepared

Dreams in which you feel unprepared, specifically for an exam, are common in young adults or children who are under a significant amount of stress; this may be due to school or university work.

Dreams of this nature can feel so real that you may wake up convinced you have just failed an important test. Test or exam-related dreams can show you lack confidence and an inability to advance in life; however, it could also mean your stress may be getting in the way of your success.

At least one of five people will experience a dream like this in their lives.

Flying

Flying in a dream can stem into many different meanings.

Having a tough time flying in your dream can suggest that someone, or something, is stopping you from moving on to the next chapter in your life. If you cannot fly, this infers that you may be finding it difficult to meet the (high) goals you have set for yourself.

If you are along while struggling to fly, it can mean that you lack confidence in yourself; perhaps setting more manageable goals, maybe daily to-dos, might bring back some personal belief.

Falling

Falling in real life can stir up feelings of fear and stress, and it’s rather similar within dreams.

In your dream, when you fall you are likely to be overcome with fear; this highlights that you are insecure and invoke anxieties about a certain situation.

You may have failed at something in your waking life, and this dream is a way of letting out or expressing how you feel about not doing as well as you may have hoped.

However, if you are happily freefalling, you may be someone who is unbothered by change and may even embrace all the changes that are thrown your way.

If the dream involves water, then this could mean that you have strong feelings for someone in your life; just as water makes an impact when you hit it, this person makes an impact within your life.
