Mark Wahlberg says having daughters has improved his relationship with women.
The 42-year-old actor - who has kids Ella, 10, Michael, eight, Brendan, five, and Grace, four, with wife Rhea Durham - admits he was initially nervous about having a girl but says his bond with the female members of his household is "wonderful".
Mark Wahlberg has a better relationship with the women in his life now he is a father to daughters.
He said: "When I first found out we were having a girl [first], it was like a little kick in the stomach. My mother was like, 'That's what you get!'
"But it's really been the greatest thing ever, because I have a wonderful relationship with [my daughter] that's helped in my relationships with women in general."
The 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' actor admits he is much more protective of his daughters than his sons and is more strict with the girls.
He told Britain's GQ magazine: "My wife is very particular about what the kids can watch.
"I have a bit of a double standard. My boys, they want to watch everything, but I'm very protective of my girls."
As well as his acting career, Mark is also a successful producer and says stepping behind the camera has been good for family life.
He said: "Producing helps, actually. I get to spend more time at home, work from home. There's enough time in the day to do it all and still get eight hours of sleep a night."
