Garry Shandling suffered from shortness of breath hours before his death.
It has been revealed that the late comedian and actor - who tragically passed away yesterday (24.03.16) at the age of 66 - was complaining to a pal about his breathing and pain in his legs the day before he died.
Ed Winter, the Assistant Chief Coroner, told PEOPLE magazine: "[His friend] stopped by that night, and Garry didn't want any medical attention. Garry said he would get checked out, and he collapsed 45 minutes later."
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Garry died after suffering a heart attack at his home.
Since his death, Judd Apatow has posted a tribute to the late comedian, remembering the man who "taught me everything I know".
He said: "Garry would see the ridiculousness of me being asked to sum up his life five minutes after being told of his passing. It is a perfect, ridiculous Larry Sanders moment.
"I can imagine how Hank would handle it but I just don't know how to sum up someone I loved so much who taught me everything I know and was always so kind to me. I am just too sad. Maybe tomorrow I will do better."
