Maude Apatow has cast her mother Leslie Mann in 'Poetic License'.
The 'Euphoria' actress - who has played Lexi Howard on the hit HBO show - is working on her feature film directorial debut, which has been written by Raffi Donatich.
According to Deadline, she has brought her mother on board alongside 'No Hard Feelings' actor Andrew Barth Feldman, Philip Seymour Hoffman's son Cooper and 'The Last of Us' star Nico Parker.
The movie will be the first project produced for Jewelbox Pictures, the production company the 26-year-old star launched this year with friend and longtime collaborator Olivia Rosenbloom.
The story will follow former therapist Liz, who is about to become an empty nester.
However, her life takes an awkward turn when two inseparable best friends and college seniors Sam and Ari start to battle for her affection, causing a strain in their friendship.
There is no word yet on which characters the actors have been cast as.
Apatow - whose father is Judd Apatow - is best known for her role in 'Euphoria', while she has also appeared in Ryan Murphy's 'Hollywood', and series like 'Other People', 'This Is 40' and 'Knocked Up'.
She previously fired back at her critics after being branded a "nepo baby", and while the abuse initially got her down, she is determined to keep working to prove herself in the industry.
Back in 2022, she told Porter magazine: “At first, I was sad… I try not to let it get to me because I obviously understand that I’m in such a lucky position.
“A lot of people (in a similar position) have proven themselves over the years, so I’ve got to keep going and make good work. It’s so early in my career.
“I try not to think about that so much, but it definitely drives me. I feel like I really need to prove myself, so I work extra hard.”
