The 34-year-old presenter made her TV debut at 15 presenting CITV's 'The Disney Club' in 1996 but she admits it was difficult to know how to get into the entertainment industry because she had "zero" connections but she always projected "confidence" when going for jobs.

Speaking about her breakthrough at the Glamour Beauty Festival held at London's Saatchi Gallery at the weekend, the former BBC Radio One DJ said: "For me, when I was trying to get into the industry I'm in, I was from the suburbs, I had zero connections and it is that first bit - once you are in the door.

"When you get those connections it is pivotal because you have to use those contacts so wisely and be quite bolshie and confident and go for it."

Fearne - who has two children, son Rex, three, and six-month old daughter Honey Krissy, with her husband Jesse Wood - made sure she had the highest professional standards when she began her career and was always punctual and ready to work.

Revealing her pet hate at work, she said: "I hate lateness, it's annoying."

Following the two-day Glamour Beauty Festival, the magazine turns its attention to the its annual awards show which will return later this year with main sponsors Next and while the Female category will be sponsored by Cointreau UK.
