The 'Born To Try' hitmaker and former Neighbours actress revealed after her album 'Innocent Eyes' broke in 2004 she embarked on a seven-year relationship with Westlife singer Brian McFadden and got "taken away" with tabloid hype.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, the stunner shared: "Now turning into a woman, being 30 years old. I've learned that I never actually wanted to talk about my private life. I never wanted to bring that into it, but I think I got taken away into something that wasn't really me. I learned that I just never really want to be brought back into that again. My album had just broken in a huge way, it was phenomenal. I was very young. I've totally understood that with music comes... people are interested in your personal life, but again it's just not who I am."

And Delta - whose latest single 'Wings' from her upcoming fifth studio album became her ninth No.1 on the ARIA Singles chart - wishes she had a "road map" back then to guide her.

She added: "When I was younger I didn't have a road map to know how I was meant to deal with all of that because there was a lot thrown my way, but I feel that it's all about this new chapter and it's like 10 years later, I've waited another decade to make sure that it (music) feels really fresh and it's about the music. I'm in it for the long run with music."

Meanwhile, the Australian Voice judge has been busy rehearsing for her upcoming role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats The Musical', in which she will play the most glamorous feline, Grizabella, and has been contemplating on the next chapter.

The star said: "I feel like I've done a full circle and I've gone back to the beginning. I fell back in love with classical pop, with the piano, and I really did, I fell back in love with the instruments. Even though I've always been doing it and back home I've been doing my thing and releasing my records, there was something about the start of the year. And after I turned 30, what is it that I actually want out of life? How do I want to spend my next 10 years? So I really let go of any illusions of anything, I just sort of let go of everything go and then of course when you let go of, where should I be at this moment in my life? You go, oh, I'm just going to do what I love, love what I do."
