Have you ever seen a drifter
That knew exactly where he was going?
Looked at a photograph
But didn’t know what it was showing?
Fallen desperately in love
To find out it was wrong?
Taken a turn down a road
That ended up being too long?
Ripped the truth out of a man
That swore an oath on a lie?
Sworn them off in shame one night
Then sit down and cry?
Forced the hand of fate
When life wouldn’t alter to an excuse?
Shown the dignity and honor
That is hidden within the truth?
Continued to carry on in life
Through all its twists and turns?
Sometimes we lose ourselves
Every time it spurns.
Life shows us degrees of uncertainty
That we must continue to entertain.
It’s not that we cannot give up
It is that the problems will remain.
Best to take it step by step
When strife rears its ugly head.
Take your problems through the day
But never take them to bed.
