He moved my desk to the spot I wanted
Then made a joke about how spoiled I was.
How when my life fell apart people moved me
Out to the country,
Yet when his fell apart he was told to suck it up.
We laughed about old times
When we were younger and less afraid.
He wiped off my desk and asked me
“Josephine, what do you want?”
Such a crazy question to ask a woman
That feels as if she has nothing
Yet everyone that has entered into her life
Took something.
I looked down at the ground and began saying words
Peace
Love
Hope
Trust
Honesty
Valiance
Integrity
Just then he stopped me
“No, what do you want right now?”
I looked up at him
I told him “I want that desk”
He shook his head and looked at it
“well, It’s yours, isn’t it?”
I smiled at him,
“Yes, but I want a man like that desk”
Peaceful
Strong
Sturdy
Never wavering
Never leaving
Always with me
Does it what it must
Then does what it should.
“But wouldn’t you get cold at night?” He asks.
I turn around to him
“How cold do you think I get now?”
