Old friends Sunil Shetty and Sanjay Dutt have had a massive showdown. The reason being Sunils long-in-the-making film EMI, which has Dutt making a special appearance. Even after a year of being in production, the film is far from complete. In the past, Sanjay wanted to re-shoot EMI because he felt he looked exremely plump in the film. After a lot of arguments and discussions, Shetty convinced Dutt to let the scenes be as it would involve rescheduling of dates and escalating costs. The matter didnt end there. When Sanjay came back from South Africa after shooting for Luck and Chatur Singh Two Star, Sunil took dates from Sanjay to finish dubbing for EMI. To his surprise, Dutt never showed up. Sunil arranged for a media interaction last week at the Anand Dubbing Studio to promote EMI but it had to be called off because of Dutts no-show. In both instances, Sanjay cited the same reason: he was unwell. The big reason behind the tussle is money. Dutt feels that EMI has been sold on his name even thought hes only doing a guest appearance.Shetty went to meet Dutt after his no-show at the dubbing studio and thats where they fought. Shetty requested Dutt to at least give him the dates to finish the project but Dutt, in turn, wants Sunil to wait his turn as he has no dates till mid-2009. If thats the case, EMI will run into major losses.Sunil has already sold the movie to Sahara Motion Pictures for a decent amount. But in the contract, it has been stated that the film should have come out by March this year. It also states that there is a 90-day grace period but that too has passed and now there is a buzz that Sahara want to back out due to the delays and also want Shetty to return their money.
