Sanjay Dutt's Life On The Big Screen?....

Imprisoned Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's colourful life is set to be transported on the big screen.Daivanamathil director Jayaraaj is hoping the troubled star will allow him to create a movie based on his life behind bars.Dutt was jailed for six years last month (31Jul07) for illegal possession of arms in relation to the serial bombings in Mumbai in 1993, which claimed 257 lives.Jayaraaj says, "Specially, I would like to explore the reflection of the other prisoners on him and his interactions with them."Meanwhile the Bollywood star himself will have to wait to discover if he will be released on bail pending an appeal against his six-year prison sentence for receiving guns from gangsters.The 48-year-old actor was jailed last week for taking an AK-56 rifle and pistol from individuals linked to the 1993 bombings in Mumbai that left 257 people dead.Dutt appealed against the conviction on Tuesday (07Aug07) and requested bail, arguing that his conviction was based on a confession that he had later retracted. He also promised not to commit any further offences while on bail.But India's Supreme Court delayed a decision on Friday (10Aug07) while it seeks an opinion from the country's top investigation body. Dutt will learn of the court's decision on 20 August (07).
