Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is recovering in hospital after being admitted with acute abdominal pains on Saturday, his 66th birthday.Officials confirmed the star is responding positively to treatment after being carried into the clinic in Mumbai, India on a stretcher.His son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, told reporters on Saturday his father was suffering from an "intestinal obstruction", and asked fans to keep him in their prayers.Hospital spokesman Mohan Rahan says, "The medication has worked on him and doctors are pleased with his recovery."Rahan adds that Bachchan is expected to be released from hospital in the following days.In 2005, Bachchan underwent surgery for an intestinal condition at the same hospital.
