Abhishek performing a dance routine - minus head injury here!
Actor Abhishek Bachchan was injured while shooting for Rohit Shetty's 'Bol Bachchan.' The 35-year-old was shooting a action sequence when the incident happened on Wedensday.
He was running between rickshaws and missed a step, hitting his head on a metal piece on the rickshaw. Leaving him with a deep cut on his head, above the right eye. The actor who was taken to hospital had to receive six stitches and has been told to rest for a few days before continuing with the shoot.
He posted on his Twitter account: “Had a fall whilst filming a small action sequence in Jaipur. Have come back to Mumbai now and will resume work at the earliest...I will be fine. Can’t say the same for the rickshaw!!! Banged him up good! Hehe...Thank you again for all the get well soon messages...Lots of love and gratitude." (Sic.)
His superstar father Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog: "Four more days before the stitches can be removed.. doctor said will leave a scar, but will merge into the skin gradually." (Sic.)
Of course Big B knows all about stunts going wrong. In the 1983 movie 'Coolie' the star had a much more serious injury during a shoot for a fighting scene. In the scene he was required to fall onto a table and then on the ground, however as he jumped towards the table, the corner of the table struck his adbomen causing a splenic rupture from which he lost a significant amount of blood. He required an emergency splenectomy and remained critically ill in hospital for many months. Only once he had fully covered did the shooting for the movie continue. Abhishek's sounds like a little scratch in comparison now!
'Bol Bachchan' which is a comedy movie will be releasing on July 6th 2012.
