He is known as the superstar of Bollywood, a legend who everyone adores, and now at the age of 68 Amitabh Bachchan is heading over to Hollywood.
The actor has joined he cast of 'The Great Gatsby,' playing the role of Meyer Wolfsheim. He will be starring alongside hottie Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays the lead role of Jay Gatsby. Other cast members include; Isla Fisher, Tobey Magurie and Carey Mulligan.
The $125 million project is set to be a 3D adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, by director Baz Luhrmann.
Baz Luhrmann announced that principal photography for the project began earlier this week in Sydney, Australia. He said in a statement by Warner Bros Pictures: “Fitzgerald loved the movies and was a passionate believer in the power of cinema. The Great Gatsby has been adapted for the screen no less than four times. Fitzgerald’s story defies time and geography. The vision and the goal of our remarkable cast and creatives is to do justice to the deftness of Fitzgerald’s telling, and illuminate its big ideas and humanity. This is our challenge and our adventure. The opportunity to make the film in Australia with the Bazmark creative team is very important to us; the assistance from Screen Australia and the NSW Government has made that possible.”
For Big B this movie will prove just how versatile he really is. And that the title of being known, as the superstar of Bollywood is very much deserved.
The release date for the movie is yet to be confirmed.
