Attention all online shopping fans! Today Sport Relief announced the return of Twitrelief, the online auction that gives the public the chance to buy incredible celebrity prizes.
Back for a second year, Twitrelief has brought a huge flock of tweeting celebrities from the sporting and entertainment world together to help raise money for Sport Relief.
More than 100 tweeting celebrities including Robbie Savage, Stephen Fry, Tinie Tempah, One Direction, Sara Cox, Olly Murs, David Walliams, JLS, Gabby Logan and Sarah Brown are taking part, all ready to sell themselves online.
Up for grabs are loads of goodies which the public can bid for, ranging from the chance to be followed by their favourite celebrity on Twitter to bagging lunch with their favourite star. And to make it even easier for everyone to take part, Sport Relief is launching a Twitrelief raffle, which will run alongside the auction so everyone can have a chance of winning.
This year, the prizes are set to get the pounds piling in for Sport Relief. Fashion followers may finally be in with a chance to meet the man of their dreams as top male model David Gandy is inviting his highest bidder to join him for lunch and Matthew Williamson will give his highest bidder an exclusive designer dress. And for sport lovers, rugby star Chris Ashton will give his highest bidder a signed England rugby shirt and boots.
From Thursday 15th March to Sunday 25th March, celebrities on Twitter will be tweeting about the Twitrelief auction and raffle prizes, offering their followers the chance to win these priceless items.
Commenting on Twitrelief Gabby Logan said: “It’s great that Twitrelief is back again this year. There are so many amazing prizes and experiences on offer and all the money raised by the public goes to helping change lives both here in the UK and the world’s poorest countries. I’d like my prize to be the one that everyone bids for, so I’ll be encouraging everyone out there to bid as much as they can and they’ll be rewarded with lunch with myself and the lovely Clare Balding.”
Commenting on his prize actor Nick Frost said: “There will be no escaping me as I follow this person on Twitter, and to increase my bids I’m offering a once in a life time opportunity to have a walk on part in my next film...maybe it will be the highest bidders lucky break!”
David Gandy added: “Twitrelief is a fantastic and innovative way of raising money for a great cause and I’m hoping that people will dig deep to make sure they win the prizes they want. For this year’s Twitrelief I’m offering the highest bidder the chance to have lunch at one of London’s top restaurants for some great food and plenty of wine, the only downside is, they have to have lunch with me."
All the money raised by the public for Twitrelief will be spent helping people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries. For everything you need to know about Twitrelief visit www.twitrelief.com
