Now many women are following in the footsteps of the star and choosing to opt for the “budget” wedding. With the average wedding costing £20,000, this seems scandalous and is nine times the average wage. This however puts added stress on the wedding to be perfect and can result in a divorce.
Weddings are about having fun and bringing your loved ones together on your happy day. It should not be about how much money you spend on it and many women are beginning to realise this after Keira Knightly set an example for all women.
Keira rooted through her wardrobe and picked a beautiful designer gown she has worn five years before, instead of choosing an expensive wedding dress. She also picked a low-key setting in the South of France, close to her family holiday home. And unlike most stars, Keira had a quiet wedding with only her close family and loved ones there to see her get hitched to The Klaxons, James Righton. In fact, the star only invited 11 people to watch her get married.
Keira had the perfect low-key wedding and is now making many women think twice before the spend thousands of pounds on one day. So say goodbye to huge wedding dresses and a exoctic location, weddings are now about the emotion and the happy day rather than the amount of money you have spent on it. And as the saying goes, money can’t buy you happiness.
