Tips from Louise Ellin, Wedding Co-ordinator at Oulton Hall:

1) At the start of planning, write a list of everything that you both want and that is important. Once you have set your budget you can re-visit this list and prioritise what you actually need - this will help you narrow down on your ideas and stick to your budget

2) Don't be swayed by other influences, stick to what you want

3) Create a running order - put together a minute-by-minute rundown of all the different acts and distribute it to every supplier two weeks in advance. Be sure to include contact information for everyone you'll be working with so you have it all in one place.

4) Break in your shoes before the big day!

5) Have a back-up plan in case the weather turns bad - photos etc

6) Learn to let go a little, a lot of brides can get themselves worked up over table plans and favours when the most things people remember are the dress the food and the music

Tips from Nina Rodriguez, Wedding Co-ordinator at The Midland:

Choose your Venue & where you are having your ceremony together, so the dates & times all balance, if its a Church check what time you can marry on that date, as you don't want the ceremony too early or too late

Make a diary of your activities over the months prior to the Wedding, aiming to have everything finalised four weeks prior, so you can feel relaxed before the big day, this will be your "Wedding To Do list"....... & you need to try & stick to it !!

As soon as the Venue & Ceremony are booked, the first two things on your "Wedding To Do List" are:

Your Dress search, some dresses have a minimum ordered time, but have a good shop around & try as much as needed to on

A Photographer, good ones get booked up, do your research & meet them first, you have to get on, they are coming to your Wedding after all

Listen to recommendation's, they are free, but also do your own research into them too

If you can do or make anything yourself, you will save money, stationary, place-cards, favours, making your own Wedding cake even, but make sure you have the time in your life to do this. If not, don't attempt it, find a supplier.

Get the Bridesmaids, Best Men & Ushers involved in helping, they are there to help not just look pretty on the day.

Never tell anyone in advance where they are sitting at the Wedding Breakfast, let them find out on the day, if they ask, tell them you haven't look at it yet. In fact don't tell too many people your Wedding ideas either, let that also be a surprise on the day

Speeches need to be kept tidy, each person doing a speech shouldn't be less than two minutes, but equally no more than 10 minutes per person, otherwise your guests will lose interest.

If you are thinking of booking a Live Band, ask if they can do the music, before, in-between & after their sets, otherwise you will have to find a DJ & you will incur more cost

Most important out of every bit of organising, choosing, discussing & putting it all together............... "Enjoy your day, its going to be amazing !!"
