As today is Thanksgiving- we thought we would shine a light on other times you are thankful too- like- as some might say- the biggest day of your life for instance.

When everyone turns up who's supposed to

When everyone turns up who's supposed to

When everyone turns up who needs to- The hairdresser, the make-up artist, the photographer, the registrar/vicar- when everyone remembers and arrives on time you can breathe a sigh of relief.

That all your family are together- There aren't many times in the year when everyone you're related to is under one roof other than Christmas perhaps- so it's a real treat to have them all in one place at the same time.

When people have travelled far to see you get married- People come from all parts of the country to see you walk down the aisle and it's really humbling when they make the effort to do so.

When people get along for your sake- You know not everyone in your family circle and friendship groups are the best of friends but they keep their differences at bay so it doesn't spoil your wedding day and you're grateful for that.

That you're marring the person you love most in the world- Some people never marry the one they love, find someone they want to spend the rest of their life with or fall in love at the wrong time and in the wrong place. You're blessed to be able to commit to your special someone.

When someone gives you a compliment- They don't have to but they make you feel on top of the world by noticing the little details about your appearance.

When it all goes well- When no-one objects to you getting married, you say your vows without a mistake, those with readings don't stumble and the speeches don't offend anyone- you know you're good and can relax.

When someone says something moving in a speech- People expect certain things of a speech- yes- but when someone goes that extra mile to say something more personal- it brings a tear to your eye and the guests' too.

When the venue lives up to expectations- They've done this thousands of times before so they should know what they're doing but you do worry that something might go wrong. When it doesn't. you're thankful that everything has gone to plan without a hitch.

When all your guests look happy- Everyone has a drink in their hand, has enjoyed a turn about the dancefloor and are absorbed in conversations with other people- the day and night has been a success thanks to everyone involved.
