Shelley Bolton, 25, like a lot of women was fearful that her boyfriend, Sacha Rice, 26, would never pop the question. After having a son together, Phoenix, the hints were dropped and Sacha was not picking up on them- or so she thought. On Valentine’s Day- he proposed while they were in their kitchen at their home in Portsmouth, Hants.
Shelley said: "I was starting to think that I would never get engaged.
"We had spoken about marriage and even looked at rings but Sacha was worried about the cost and stressed that we had to get things right financially before we made that commitment. Sacha completely surprised me with his proposal. We were watching TV when he said, 'Can I ask you something?' I wasn't sure what he was going to say and became a little flustered and left the room
momentarily. When I returned it was wonderful to hear him say, 'Will you marry me?' I was delighted to say, 'Yes.' Sacha is a wonderful caring man and a fantastic father to Phoenix- he has
made the happiest girl in the world."
The couple chose a £1,250 Princess cut diamond engagement ring together with a white gold band from Vashi.com .
Shelley said: "It's a beautiful ring - elegant and under-stated."
The couple are saving up for their wedding and plan to tie the knot in
2016 when they will be celebrating five years together.
