Donna and Chris
Chris had been planning his proposal for four weeks and had already visited Donna’s Mum to ask her permission to propose, secretively meeting at a shopping centre to avoid bumping into Donna at home.
Donna had a week off around her birthday and Chris had been behaving strangely but he promised to take her birthday off work even though he couldn’t take the whole week off. On the morning of her birthday she came downstairs and opened her present from Chris; a cookbook.
She was just in her pyjamas and he gave her another present. It was a large box. She opened it and found another box inside. She then opened another box again to find a small ring sized box. She kept repeating to Chris, ‘What are you doing?’ as she opened each layer of the box.
When she got down to the ring, Chris got down on one knee and proposed. Donna rang all of her family, even though her Mum already knew. She was very surprised that her Mum had been able to keep the secret.
