According to Thomson, the numbers of love birds choosing to get married in the snow-dusted fair tale location has increased.
Lapland is the idyllic winter wonderland for a wedding ceremony and is now a firm favourite destination for a wedding, sales have risen by 6% since last year and online searches for Lapland trips have seen an increase of 30% this week compared to last year.
In 2012, 62 happy customers visited Lapland to say 'I do' and Thomson expects even more of an increase during the festive period. Whilst romantic breaks to Lapland are on the rise, the destination still remains the most popular to families. Thousands of excited children prepare to visit the home of the main man and whilst on their visit they get to enjoy husky sleigh rides, snowball fights and meeting Santa Claus.
The opportunity to see the Northern Lights is another added reason to travel to the most loved destination. Saariselka is situated so far North in Lapland making it one of the best places to catch a glimpse in a beautiful, romantic setting.

The Kittila area will draw you in with its spectacular Snow Village, this icy piece of architecture is re-built every year using approximately one thousand truckloads of snow and has an an ice hotel and ice bar.
