Celebs can make mistakes just like the rest of us in the love department! The whirlwind of romance can get to us all and most of these celebs have shown that young marriage in Hollywood tends not to work out. However, to our delight, many of them have gone on to find happiness with their subsequent partners!
- 1. Melanie Griffith- Age 18
She began dating Don Johnson when she was the tender age of 14, who was 22 at the time. Melanie was an extra in her mother’s movie alongside Johnson, The Harrad Experiment. They got married in 1976, however the marriage only last six months. In 1989, they gave it another go, she got pregnant and the got married again, however this then broke up in 1996.
- 2. Macaulay Culkin- Age 17
Culkin married Rachel Miler when he was only 17. They broke up in 2000 and their divorce was finalised in 2002.
- 3. Angeline Jolie- Age 21
Jolie met Jonny Lee Miller on the set of Hackers in 1996. She walked down the isle in black rubber trousers and a t shirt with his name written over it in her blood. Only months after there were rumours that the marriage was not faring well. They finally broke up 18 months after they got married and have been friends since.
- 4. Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik- Age 20
Malik confirmed that the couple were engaged right after the premiere of This Is Us, where Perrie was sporting a rather large diamond ring. They have been together since 2012 and still holding strong.
- 5. Miley Cyrus- Age 20
Cyrus was 20 years old when Liam (22) asked her to marry him in May 2012. The couple had on on-off relationship and eventually broke up at the end of this year.
- 6. Kim Kardashian- Age 19
She married producer Damon Thomas at only 19, however he filed for divorce in 2003 and it was all wrapped up by 2004.
- 7. Olivia Wilde- Age 19
Wilde married Tao Rsuponi, who was 10 years her senior in a secret ceremony upon a school bus. They divorced in 2011 and in 2013 she got engaged again to Jason Sudeikis.
- 8. LeAnn Rimes- Age 19
Rimes married her backup dancer Dean Sherement in 2002. They got divorced in 2012 and she went on to marry Eddie Cibrian later.
- 9. Avril Lavigne Age 21
Lavigne was only 21 when she married punk rocker Deryk Whibley in 2005. They tied the knot in 2006 in Motecito. The got divorced in 2010 and she is now married to Nickleback's Chad Kroeger in 2013.
- 10. Patrick Dempsey- Age 21
Dempsey married his acting coach Rocky Parker who was 47 at the time. They lasted until 1994 when he went on to marry his wife Jillian Fink, whom he is still with now.
- 11. Kate Hudson- Age 21
Kate was also 21 when she got married to Chris Robinson in 2000 after their first meeting at a party in New York City. They had a son together- Ryder, however eventually split in 2006. Kate is now married to Matthew Bellamy from Muse.
