Usher and stylist Foster reportedly began dating in November 2007 after she worked as his personal stylist for many years.

They got engaged on February 2007 and after their initial wedding plans were cancelled, they married on 3rd August 2007 in a civil ceremony in Atlanta.
They followed this up with a larger ceremony in 1st September 2007 at the Chateau Elan Winery and Resort just outside Atlanta.
When the pair married, Usher became step father for Foster's three sons from previous relationships. One of her children was born when she was a teenager and the other two are from her first marriage to Ryan Glover.
The couple went on to have two sons together; Usher Terry and Naviyd Ely.
Usher filed for divorce in June 2009 in Atlanta and it was all finalised by 4th November 2009. There was a lot of media interest over the custody battle that allegedly followed their divorce, which lasted three years. On 24th August 2012, it was reported that a judge gave Usher primary custody of their two sons.
