1. Streep married sculptor Gummer on 30th September 1978.
2. They now have four children together; Henry Wolfe, Mamie, Grace and Louise Jacobson.
3. Mamie and Grace are both now actresses.
4. Mamie played Meryl's younger self in the film Evening.
5. Henry is a musician.
6. The couple are active philanthropists who regularly donate to arts organisations and educational institutions such as Vassar College, Opus School in Harlem and the Silver Mountain Arts Foundation.
7. When asked about her spouse and her marriage, Meryl has always spoken warmly of her home life; 'I don't know what I'd do without my husband. I'd be dead, emotionally at least, if I hadn't met him. He's the greatest.'
