Although not still together, Streisand and Gould would have celebrated their wedding anniversary today, so we take a look back over their marriage together.
Streisand's first husband was Elliot Gould, whom she married in 1963 until 1971.
They had one child together- Jason Gould who starred as Streisand's on screen son in The Prince of Tides.
In 1962, he got the lead role in the Broadway production of I Can Get It For You Wholesale. This was his first encounter with Streisand. "She auditioned and I fell in love with her. The writer said, 'What do you think?' And I said, 'She's brilliant. She presents herself just like I feel about me. She's scared but she's brilliant and I love her work.'" (www.thebigissue.com)
He repeated her phone number over and over until it was firmly fixed in his mind and called her that night, backstage from the Plymouth Theatre.
The pair then moved in while Streisand was still a struggling actress during the 1960s. They lived together at 1157 Third Avenue in Manhattan above the Oscar's Salt of the Sea Restaurant and shared an apartment that cost $62 per month.
