You would think that Christmas would be the worst (and best) time to get married. I know planning a wedding can be trying at the best times but combine that with Christmas and the pressure mounts. I take my hat off to these celebs who made it through a wedding and the festive period all rolled into one.
Christmas Eve
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman- 24/12/1990
Cruise met Kidman on the set of their 1990 Days of Thunder in 1989. They have since starred in Eyes Wide Shut (1999) and Far And Away (1992) together.
They subsequently married on 24 th December 1990 in Tellurise, Colorado. The newlyweds adopted two children Isabella Jane (born December 1992) and Connor Antony (born January 1995).
As Kidman is 5'11'', she was 4 inches higher than Cruise so rarely wore heals when she was seen publicly with him to match his height- now she is rarely seen without a pair of heels.
New Year's Eve
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith: 12/31/1997
Smith and Pinkett met in 1990 on the set of TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. She auditioned for the role of Smith character's girlfriend, Lisa Wilkes. Unfortunately, the role went to Nia Long, however Pinkett and Smith stayed friends, but didn't start dating until 1995.
At their wedding were in excess of 100 guests at The Cloisters near Pinkett's hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.
New Year's Day
Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany
The celebrity couple met while on-set of the film, in which they both starred, 'A Beautiful Mind'. They wed in Scotland and then Bettany moved out to Brooklyn, New York with Connelly and her son Kai, from her previous relationship with photographer David Duggan.
They had another son, Stellan, who is named after actor Stellan Skarsgard in 2003. Bettany starred with Stellan Skarsgard in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2001 and Dogville in 2003.
In 2011 they had another child, this time a girl, called Agnes Lark, Connelly had her at home in New York via a scheduled water birth.
The couple have since starred in the movie 'Creation' together as Charles and Emma Darwin.
