The pair initially met back in 1993 for the casting audition of Blood in Blood Out and saw each other on and off after that.

When they started filming Pinero in 2001 their relationship blossomed and they got engaged shortly after.
Bratt married Soto in a Calvin Klein suit on the 13th April 2002 in San Francisco. She was pregnant with his baby at the time.
Their first child; Sophia Rosalinda Bratt was born on 6th December 2002 and their son Mateo Bravery Bratt was born on 3rd October 2005.
