Hitchcock met his future wife while they were working together at Paramount’s Famous Players Lasy Studio in London in the 1920s.
Alma was editing at the time, however as soon as Alfred’s work came to light her focus was completely on that as they both had a great passion for cinema.
Alma converted to Roman Catholicism from Protestantism in order to marry Alfred and was only one day younger than her husband.
Their daughter was born on the 7th July 1928 after the married two years previously.
Alma was renowned got being able to spot the flaws in Alfred’s work that he had overlooked, in fact she noticed that Janet Leigh was breathing after the onslaught from Norman Bates in the shower scene in Psycho.
