Moore separated for his third wife, Italian actress Luisa Mattioli in 1993 after he met Danish socialite Christina Tholstrup. Moore claimed that his prostate cancer diagnosis in 1993 made him re think his life and his marriage. Both Mattioli and Tholstrup were friends, however when Mattioli released her book Nothing Lasts Forever, she was negative about Tholstrup, revealing that she felt betrayed by her and 'discarded' by her husband. She felt that Tholstrup wanted to be her and said that she was ' a hanger-on who has had two husbands and three facelifts'. (Wikipedia)
Moore was very private about his divorce to Mattioli as he didn't want to bring his children into it and for a time they didn't speak to him. It wasn't until 2000 that the divorce was finalised between Moore and Mattioli and a £10 million settlement was agreed upon.
In 2002, Moore married Tholstrup and admitted that his love for her is based on the fact that she is "organised", "serene", "loving" and "calm" He added; "I have a difficult life. I rely on Kristina totally. When we are travelling for my job she is the one who packs. Kristina takes care of all that. Moore also revealed that his marriage to Tholstrop is 'a tranquil relationship, there are no arguments'. (Wikipedia)
They now live between their homes in Switzerland and Monte Carlo and enjoy regular trips to the theatre.
