With new products hitting the shelves every day that are vegan friendly, you won’t be short of stocking filler ideas, but to give you a helping hand in 2020, we have some suggestions for you that are all stocking sized, vegan AND cruelty free.
Tea: If the vegan in your life is a tea drinker, why not opt for a Christmassy themed or flavoured tea this year? The winter months are perfect for curling up with a brew, a blanket and a book so get the ball rolling by gifting them a festive hot drink.
Something savoury: This could be anything from a tub of peanut butter, a packet of their favourite crisps or crackers or a bag of flavoured nuts or seeds- it's not all about the sweet stuff at this time of year!
Baked and popped goods: A small packet of biscuits, a little cake or some popcorn are lovely treats to have in the cupboard between Chrstimas and New Year for movie nights and desserts- so a great option for the gift that keeps on giving.
Chocolate: An obvious contender is a chocolate bar- extra points for if it is in the shape of something to do with Chrstimas like Santa or a snowman. Or if they miss their favourite chocolate bar and haven’t found a vegan replacement yet- you could gift the dairy free offering inspired by the well known brand.
Something cheeky: You have to gift at least one silly stocking filler for every one you fill- that is the rule. So if the vegan in your world has become a bit whiffy since they’ve started eating so many beans or they leave a stink in the bathroom every time they visit- some spray wouldn’t go amiss…
Beauty items: Beauty items are the perfect size for slipping into a stocking like mascaras, deodorants, blushers and lipsticks. So, if you know the brand the person you are buying for uses- you can go ahead and gift something from the line. With that said if you are unsure, something to take the make-up off could work just as well, especially if they are an eco-warrior vegan.
Healthy snacks: If you know this vegan will be going on a health kick in the New Year or doesn’t want to stray from a relatively healthy eating regime during the holidays, you could always pop something like a pressed fruit or oaty bar in their stocking. If you are really working to a budget- go traditional and put some pieces of fruit in there.
Bath salts: These are excellent for moulding around other gifts so you can fit more in the stocking! Everyone needs some rest and recuperation after the Chrstimas period so bath salts are the perfect gift for encouraging some well needed ‘me time’. And if you can get the salts in a festive scent- you will be ticking both boxes!
Practical gifts: As it’s been a year of keeping covered and incredibly clean, a small bottle of hand sanitiser or a mask are gifts that will be invaluable for the foreseeable future. Again, if you can find ones with a Christmas emblem- it will add a bit of joy to the proceedings!
